Lying side by side, small grin upon lips, head tilting
to turn seaborne hues in his direction, it’s easy to
forget why she’s traveling with the pirate in the first
place. She speaks with a hushed tone, as though a
louder cadence will shatter the sky, rain fragmented
pieces of clouds and galaxies and
 the dust of exploded
stars. Globular organs flicker across the small pinpoints
of light, trying to decipher a hidden language she isn’t
       sure actually exists.

"How can you possibly use these to navigate?”

Birthday Nails!

deceptivelyblonde:

It was my mom’s birthday yesterday so we both got our nails done. The stores wanted a really high price, so we stopped at a small table on the street managed by a couple of students.  I love the colors, and it only cost about $5 each! 0_0

spearmintblonde:

Hey!

Around this time last year I went to Stradbroke Island for a week with my dad, that was awesome - there’s way more to the island than just beaches, there’s incredible lookouts with great whale watching, there’s so many inland lakes surrounded by gorgeous bushland etc.. I’m definitely planning on going again and seeing more of it!

Cedar Creek is definitely a go-to for me (and most Brisbane people who like nature, haha) because it’s so huge, you can enter right near the falls themselves and just have a swim, or you can plan it so you have a great little hike across the rocks; totally worth it, the amount of wildlife we’ve seen is insane and Andrew totally found a turtle shell once!

If you’re willing to go a bit further down I can’t recommend the Northern Rivers of New South Wales (near & around Byron) enough, particularly Minyon Falls, ya might see a platypus! If you can’t get that far down then Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast hinterland is absolutely incredible. I refused to do the Skywalk thing because it was twenty fucking dollars a head, but the surrounding nature is equally as beautiful if not more so because even though you’re walking tracks thousands have walked before, it still feels much more like exploring than a fucking man0made boardwalk in the sky, like get the fuck over yrself imo - there’s creeks and water holes and rockpools and waterfalls and it’s amazing! If you’re not into water there are so many nature walks too, definitely worth it regardless.

If you’re after beachy stuff, Wellington Point is fab, Andrew took me there once and we walked out across a sandbank to get to this cute tiny sand island you can just walk around/chill on or swim out off, it was awesome!

Other than that, just get to know cool suburbs. I’ve Googled like, “best antique stores Brisbane” or “good bookstores Brisbane” and found some fucking gems, everything is right under our noses and (despite my negative relationship with the place) Brisbane is actually very cool if you take the time to find out what it has to offer.

Good luck! x
